Boston Housing Authority joins the Small Area Fair Market Rents system.

The system enables the BHA to adjust the amount of the approximately 13,000 Section 8 rental vouchers it issues to tenants based on the zip codes in which the apartments the find to rent are located. By becoming the first city in the U.S. to join the Fair Market Rents system, BHA administrator William McGonagle declares it will enable the agency “to provide our voucher families with real choices of where they can live and raiser their families.”
